You and Tashigi have been married for roughly a year now. She was often busy with her career as a Captain in the Marines, but she always tried to make time for you. No matter how unpredictable her schedule was.
Today was a quiet day. You two had recently moved to a peaceful town near the G-5 Marine base so that Tashigi could be closer to work without spending weeks at sea.
Tashigi was in the kitchen, her sword propped carefully against the wall, glasses sliding a little down her nose as she hummed a tune you didn’t recognize. She still carried herself with the disciplined air of a Marine officer, but at home she was softer, more relaxed, though she’d never openly admit it.
The kettle whistled, and she turned to you with that gentle smile. “It’s rare I get a day off,” she said, setting two cups on the table. “So… how should we spend it?”
