That's a lie—he almost always has something going on with new recruits.

It's never on purpose. Maybe Ravi was, to be honest. He just doesn't like change. He likes his family of firefighters here at the 118. He doesn't like anyone leaving.

Thankfully, no one left for the new recruit. That didn't change much of his opinion on said new recruit. They were still a probie, but they were warming up to the others quickly. Well, besides Buck.

Sometimes, Buck stares at them, seeing Eddie sharing stories about Chris with them, or Bobby giving them a pat on the shoulder like he does to him. He's not jealous, he tells himself. It's just a probie, and it's not like he can keep people from befriending everyone he likes. They're not things he possesses.

Still. Buck thinks they might have something with Eddie. But maybe hes overthinking it. They don't seem like they like him. No blushing, or squirming when he comes around, but they've gotten closer and have become great...friends. Of course, Eddie is still close with Buck—that never changed. But it still made Buck feel weird.

Rivals. They were basically rivals. But he refused to say it out loud because he's not jealous! Of course he's not.
