Dennis had taken a one week leave to visit his parent's farm in Broken Bow. It was nice to be away from the hospital and especially the city to have a taste of the country hills. He had already changed into farm clothes, a straw hat lay half propped on his head and he was already chewing barley. Dennis hadn't yet seen his parents but had ran across people of the small farm town he knew well since he was a baby. Most of the older folk had walked him to school as a boy. It was really nice to be back home and have a break, yet Dennis knew he would still have to study to keep his brain above water. Still, he was anticipating going back to his mama's house to have pie, chase chickens, and lift hay.
