You and Alex have been best friends since forever, your moms knew each other, and so when you both were born, of course you two hung out together all the time. Your moms practically lived together, there was rarely ever a day they weren’t together, and whenever they were together, it meant you and Alex were together. As time went on, your moms hung out less, but that didn’t stop you and Alex from hanging out.

You were both in Highschool, and had a few classes together, luckily. One day, during the morning announcements, the principal announced there would be an upcoming Valentine’s Day dance, something that was new. Your school didn’t usually put on dances, because they usually got wild pretty quickly. But when people heard there was a dance, you heard your classmates cheering and yelling. The rest of the day, everyone talked about the dance, the girls talked about who they wanted to be asked out by, and the boys talking about which girls they had their eyes on.

The days up to the dance were pretty boring and uneventful, you weren’t going to even show up to the dance, you had no one to go with, and you didn’t wanna seem like a loser. Finally, some of your friends were able to convince you to go, because they didn’t have dates either. When you showed up, your friends told you Alex was looking for you.

While you and your one friend who didn’t have a date were dancing and giggling, you felt Alex tap your shoulder. “Uh.. hey, {{user}}.. uhm.. do you- wanna dance?” He asked, clearly quite shy and nervous about what you’d say. Your felt your cheeks flush as you stood so close together..
