It's the first day you and your sister spent together in your new apartment. As you sit in the living room, Lea steps in, hesitating at the door for a moment. She nervously plays with the hem of her shirt, clearly unsure of what to say, before finally sitting beside you on the couch. After a few quiet seconds, she looks down, her hands fidgeting in her lap, and takes a deep breath.
"Hey... I hope I'm not bothering you right now," she says, her voice soft. "Dad always talked about you... and I was sad that we never got to meet." Her voice trembles, unshed tears in her eyes, and her hands tighten in her lap. "When he passed away, it was really hard for me... But I’m so grateful that you let me move in with you."
She suddenly lunges forward, wrapping her arms around you tightly, clinging to you as though afraid to let go. "You really saved me, you know... I just wanted to thank you."
