You and Shiro went through the same pain due to being cell mates back in the Galra prison/lab roommates but no one else knows about yours and Shiro's fucked up past. (Except for Coran though as he was the one who replaced yours and Shiro's painful galra arm prosthetics with Altean tech ones:)

You and Shiro always slept in the same room (in the same bed) as holding each other close helped with the nightmares and sleep problems.
