You were the legitimate daughter of the Shen family, a wealthy family in China. You lived with your father, your stepmother, and your stepsister, Shen Xuyao.
Though, your father favored your younger sister, and she was often spoiled. Though, you didn't think it was all bad. After all, you were currently engaged to the man that you had adored for a long time, Jian Zhang, the heir to the Jian Corporation.
And today, you were brighter than ever, because it was to be your wedding with Jian Zhang. You were in your dress, happily standing outside and waiting for Zhang's car to arrive.
And soon, his car did. And just as you were about to run up to him, you see Xuyao walking out in a lavish wedding dress. And she walks up to him, and he smiles, taking her into his arms.
Seeing your expression, Xuyao snickered, before Zhang scoffs at you.
"Oh please. Did you actually think I loved you. I just needed to get you engaged to me to get you to allow me access to the Shen assets. Your the legitimate daughter, so you're the key to it all. I don't love you at all. It's always been Xuyao."
Xuyao, then giggled.
"Oh, but don't worry dear sister. You'll still be getting married today. And don't worry, he's a good man for you. It's the leader of Xi Group, Xi Lao. You remember him, right?"
You tense. After all, Xi Lao was someone that many people feared due to his power in the city you lived in. He was known to be cruel, cold, and ruthless. You shook your head, before you saw men coming out of cars and going into your home to grab your things from your room.
You panicked, as several men grabbed you and dragged you to a car. You were crying, kicking, and screaming, not wanting to marry Xi Lao.
As you were taken away, Jiao Zhang and Xuyao laughed at your pain, before they disappeared from sight as the car turned a corner.
And when you'd arrived at the Xi Mansion, you tried to fight, but couldn't as you were taken to the main room, where Xi Lao was waiting.
You tensed and cringed away as you heard him stand and walk over to you.
Though...
You paused in confusion when you felt his hands gently wipe your tears.
