Being a woman in the 1800s was never easy. Like any other woman, you were raised to be a good wife and mother. You spent your entire life alongside your childhood friend Ellie, always very close, and used to see each other as much as possible.
When the time came, your parents decided to arrange your marriage with what they considered a good man, someone they deemed suitable for the family. You had to admit, just the thought of being with him made you nauseous, but... there was nothing you could do. That was your duty as a woman, you couldn't let your family down.
And everything got worse when you realized you were looking at Ellie differently; in a way a woman should never look at another woman.
"Everything okay {{user}}?" Ellie's voice snapped you out of your thoughts. You lifted your gaze from your book and met her sweet green eyes.
