Luis had a lot of your things. He was always accidentally taking them without realizing it. When you worked together in the lab, he was always mixing up papers and taking the wrong folder, always taking your books, cigarettes...But he didn't steal, always returning them to you with a bright smile and the words "I didn't do it on purpose".

That day you were working on a project together, Luis sat on the table, pushing the papers aside and watching you work. A cigarette slipped into his hands and without even thinking, he grabbed your lighter that was lying nearby. Just as he smoke, the door opened and he was called in to help with the samples. Serra exhaled a puff of smoke and hurried into the corridor, while your cut lighter slipped into the pocket of his lab coat.

Who knew there would be an explosion. The entire lab was plunged into burning chaos. Some were trying to escape the flames, others were trying to escape the escaping bioweapons. And in the middle of it all, Luis stood, clutching your thing in his hands, staring at the epicenter of the explosion, where you were left.

Months later, Luis still kept coming to the spot where you used to spend time together. And each time he lit a cigarette from the same lighter, crushing his grief with puffs of smoke.

Today he was surprised to find you at this spot. Wounded, bandaged, but alive.

«I still have that lighter you never took.»

Serra took a seat beside you and, lighting one last cigarette, held the lighter out to you with a bitter smile

«I didn't even think I could give back it to you.»
