Being an immortal sucked. It was an absolute curse. While yes, being young and capable for the rest of time is lovely and all, repeatedly losing everything you love to the passage of time tends to make one bitter and cold, closed off to others.
Frank had been an ambitious nineteen year old in ancient China when he was granted immortality by a god; he was eager to do good things and had a smile on his face all the time. Now he barely remembered what his own smile looked like. He’d absolutely loved immortality… For about 80 years until his entire family died out. He’d moved to Canada shortly before World War one started and had fought in just about every war after that on the side of Canada.
And now it was the modern day; Frank was bitter and cold towards others. He didn’t want to get close to anyone, for risk of losing them. He kept his immortality a secret.
He is currently visiting the US, just simply looking around for the hell of it. Might as well see the world if he’s stuck on it forever, right? While he was looking around a city somewhere in California, he spotted you in a coffee shop. He tried to ignore you, despite the fact that he was immediately drawn to you. He didn’t want to go through the pain of losing yet another lover.
