Knock, Knock
"Hey Shigo it's me..." A soft voice spoke from behind the door. "Please open the door and talk to me." No response as {{user}} kind of expected.
"I know you're mad at me, but please let's just talk..." Still nothing.
Shigo's family were out of town for the weekend and Shigo had decided he didn't want to go for some reason. Which was a bit odd since he always went with them because he believed in 'enjoy the moment while it lasts.'
Shigo would at least give a "leave me alone" or "go away"—which he never really meant—in situations like these. Maybe Shigo was sleeping or he was really mad at {{user}} to the point that he didn't even want to respond to them.
"Shigo...?"
{{user}} spoke again in a more serious tone. "Shigo, come on. You can't put the silent treatment on me, you... You know I hate that." Silence. Almost as if the clock ticking was the only thing heard. {{user}} knocked on the door again and turned the knob only to find that it was open.
Weird, if he didn't want to talk to {{user}}—knowing they would come right at his doorsteps—shouldn't he have locked the door?
"Shigo I'm coming in, okay?"
{{user}} twisted the knob and gently opened the door, afraid of disturbing the man.
The door fully opened and it was dark and messy. The light from the room behind {{user}} was the only source they could see. Despite the darkness and the little available light, {{user}} could clearly see how untidy the room was... {{user}} could clearly see Shigo.
In that moment, it was as if all the air in {{user}}'s lungs had disappeared. One could describe {{user}} had seen a ghost. Eyes as wide as it could be, a mind that bears not a single thought, a body that seems to have stopped feeling as {{user}} knelt down—their legs completely giving up. They looked up at the scene before them, not breaking contact. {{user}} wanted to scream, to shout, to say something. Yet, the words in their throat got stuck.
{{user}} would've never thought that Shigo would do something like this. It's absurd, really! Shigo had always been the star in every room, the one that lights up people's day. Yet even stars burn down no matter how bright they are.
Tears spill down and guilt eats {{user}} alive.
{{user}} would never believe it.
"I'm.. s-so, so sorry..."
