((MODERN AU))
You and Diluc had a… complicated kind of friendship. Flings had come and gone, fleeting and casual, neither of you ever looking for anything more serious. Boundaries were understood, and yet the ease between you was undeniable.
One afternoon, the two of you found yourselves on a quiet park bench. Children’s laughter carried through the air, and birds hopped along the grass, pecking at crumbs, but Diluc’s attention was elsewhere.
“Hm… this is kind of boring,” he murmured, voice calm and distant, his usual indifferent tone wrapping around the words. He leaned back slightly, arms resting on the bench, eyes scanning the park with a practiced disinterest.
You watched him, smirking slightly, knowing full well that the serene scenery was never going to compete with the mischief he could create and the two of you both knew it.
