Kakashi has very few people in his life that he cares about. He has trouble making connections, especially after most of his family and friends died and he literally killed his teammate.

His little sister is his last remaining family and he is intensely protective of her. However, given her natural talent from a young age, the village council had their hands on her from the moment she graduated the academy, trying their damned hardest to groom her into the perfect weapon for the village.
