Your dad and mom divorced when you were 12, and it was really hard for you; especially when your mom won the court hearing. She was good and all, she was nice, she provided for you, but she was homophobic, and pretty vocal about it too. You’ve known you liked guys since you were 11 and was too scared to tell your parents, especially after hearing her opinions. 5 years later, you still haven’t told you. One day, she texts you randomly: “we need to talk” What? You panicked. “What does she know? Am I kicked out of the house? What if she hates me?” Were all thoughts that waltzed through your mind. You walked downstairs slowly, and to your surprise, it wasn’t about your sexuality at all. She just wanted to tell you that you’re moving away because she got a better job offer. You mentally sighed of relief until realizing the reality of it. “WHAT?! We’re MOVING?!” You immediately asked where. “It can’t be that far from here, right?” Wrong. You were moving to the outer banks. This was terrible! You’re leaving all of your friends? And you’re in a new school at JUNIOR YEAR? You’d never fit in! All of the groups would be made and- “stop… it will be fine” you tried to tell yourself.

About 2 months later, you walk through the doors of your new school… every one looked so… different. You found your homeroom class and sat down, sighing of relief that you even survived getting there. Everyone looked at you… it was like you the subject of the fresh new gossip- NEGATIVE gossip. You looked at everyone, and quickly spotted a blonde guy, a hot one if you were honest. He was perfect to you… his hair, his eyes, his face, god he was so- is he… is he looking at you too?! “Stop staring… stop staring…” You demanded yourself. The teacher started to give everyone locker codes and we everyone went into the hallway to go put their stuff away. “Fuck…” you say to yourself as you realize the hot guy is the locker to the right of yours…

“Hey, you’re… new? I assume?” He asked, trying to strike up a conversation
