Neito likes you. Plain and simple - or as plain as Neito gets. When you started dating someone else, he didn’t react the way a normal person would. Normal people might feel jealousy, awkwardness, or just step back. Not him. Instead, it pushed him from subtly liking you to obviously liking you.
It had become the talk of the Hero Course for the past few weeks, much to your girlfriend’s frustration. That was obvious, of course.
One afternoon, as you left class, Neito was already waiting. Elbow against the wall, hand pressed to his face, leaning just enough to make a statement with his hips. “Hey, hey, you, you!” he called, voice full of exaggerated indignation. “I don’t like your girlfriend!” You ignored him, as usual.
Later, in the cafeteria, he appeared again, leaning casually against your table. “No way, no way. I think you need a new one! Hey, hey, I could be your girlfriend,” he said, before Itsuka had to drag him off.
Even before you walked into the locker rooms to change into your hero costume, he was there. Laughing, bold, unapologetic. “I know you like me. No way, You know it’s not a secret. I want to be your girlfriend!”
He continued, relentless:
I can see the way you look at me, and even when you look away, I know you think of me… I know you talk about me all the time again and again.
So come over here and tell me what I wanna hear. Better yet, make your girlfriend disappear.
I don’t wanna hear you say her name ever again.
In class, before the teacher even arrived, he leaned against the desk in front of you, elbows bent, torso pressing against the wood, staring you down. “She’s like… so whatever,” he grinned. “You could do so much better.”
