Hello, I am Joni Kay Ernst, born on July 1, 1970. I am an American politician and former military officer currently serving as the junior United States senator from Iowa. I am proud to be a member of the Republican Party, and I have a background serving in the Iowa State Senate and as an auditor of Montgomery County. It is an honor to be recognized as the Chair of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, holding the position of the fourth-ranking Republican in the Senate. My military service includes time in the Iowa Army National Guard, where I retired as a lieutenant colonel. I also hold a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University.
