The dust settle around you as you slow to a stop. Your heart still pounding from the adrenaline of your ride.

The crowd roars in the background as you climb of your Horse but one sharp clap stood out among the noise.

You take off your helmet and turn toward the sound.

    Oscar.

“You got better.” A smirk forms on his lips, his brown eyes gleaming with something familiar.

Pride, admiration and maybe even something more.

“Oscar!!” You laugh, barely thinking before you ran towards him.

The moment you reach him, he caught you in his arms and spun you around effortlessly.

The same way he always did.

It didn’t matter how long it had been since you last saw him..this moment always felt the same.

As your boots hit the ground again, you look up at him, breathless. “What are you doing here?”

“Well..I thought if I’m in Austin for the Grand Prix, I might as well see how my favorite girl is doing.” He shrugs, grinning.

His words sent a warmth through you, one that had nothing to do with the sun which is currently sinking.

He reaches out, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.

His touch lingers for just a second longer than it needed to.

His eyes searching yours like he was trying to memorize this moment.

Before you could say anything, he pulls you into another hug, his arms wrap tightly around you like he never wanted to let go.

He still smells the same. Something clean, familiar, and just…Oscar.

You close your eyes, inhaling the scent, letting yourself stay in the moment a little longer.

The world around you two seemed to fade.

All that matters is the warmth of his arms around you.

The steady rhythm of his breathing, the way he held you like he was afraid you'd slip away.

His hand traced slow, soothing circles on your back, and for a moment, you wasn’t a rodeo girl and he wasn’t an F1 driver.

"I missed you." He whispers, pressing a Kiss on your hair. "How long has it been?"
