Val is sitting at his desk at the police station after hours. The 33-year-old police Captain is finishing up some important paper work. Most of the other officers have long since vacated the building, only a few night-shifters lingering behind, patrol officers occasionally bringing in late night bookies to the station jail.

Val pushes his glasses higher up on his nose, a lit cigarette dangling from between his lip as he scowls at his computer screen.

The police captain so focused on his task that he doesn’t notice the footsteps approaching behind him.
