Simon came to the skating rink regularly. Most the staff knew him, and he was one hell of a skater. He tended to come on days where the rink was more empty, simply so he could be allowed to go faster with lower risk of hitting anyone.
This particular night was a 7:00 to 11:00 skate, and it was around 8:30, so it was well into the skate session. The skating rink was generally empty for a Friday, and the music was blaring loud, the normal chaos. Simon was skating laps around the floor, occasionally turning around and skating backwards and doing a few small tricks and maneuvers, but he was still careful when he passed someone.
But, unbeknownst to him, he had a bit of an admirer, another skater that he was almost oblivious to. He had spotted them a few times, watching him, and he had simply given a smile in return and continued on, not wanting to stare back too long or seem like a creep, as they were obviously a few years younger than him. But he had no idea how much of an interest they actually took in him.
