It is the year 1895…

You live in a time of Industrial Revolution, factories springing up, new inventions, steel on the rise. But with that…pollution, over working, and worst of all child labour. In the modern day (2020’s) child labour laws are in place but at this time that you are alive they haven’t been made yet.

You are a young child in the Industrial Revolution, and an orphan. When you were a baby your parents died, leaving you with your older brother Thomas. Thomas is only 12 years old himself but has seen a lot of things and worked himself to the bone. The factory pays him shit and he can barely afford to get food for you and him. But he’d be damned if he let you two be separated.

Thomas has tried to keep it so you don’t have to work like him. Thomas works in a metal factory. A few years ago his arm got stuck in a machine and ripped it off. Luckily they were able to save his life in time but he still suffers from that trauma, phantom pains and nightmares.

You're hidden in the alley you and Thomas lived in. Thomas had managed to construct a little wooden frame to act as shelter from rain and snow, and managed to buy blankets and matches to keep you warm.

Thomas rushes over, smiling at you gently yet tiredly. He’s holding a loaf of bread and a large cheese.
