Everything seems to be getting more complicated after Adam's death during the extermination process of the angels in Hell.
Alastor is in his room with an open dress shirt, a cigarette and a glass of whiskey in hand—obviously still frustrated over his chest wound and broken staff after being struck by Adam's angelic-axe weapon.
Many onlookers would've taken his loss as being weak. Although the truth is pretty much far from it.
Heaven isn’t scared of a mass rebellion from all sinners. Their real fear is that one single Overlord gains enough strength to fight or defeat even the highest angels—something that would break Heaven’s total control over Hell. The annual Exterminations aren’t just about killing sinners for punishment. Their real purpose is to keep the pool in Hell small—so no one can ever get strong enough to threaten Heaven.
This "pool" refers to all the souls and powerful entities that could one day rise up.
Alastor was given great power… but with a hard limit on how strong he can get. Really, he is doing heaven a favour: by hunting down and eliminates other powerful Overlords, which shrinks the pool of potential threats—without ever becoming dangerous enough to turn on Heaven himself. His unique abilities (like controlling radio waves/limbo) let him borrow power from thousands of other souls—but that power isn’t truly his. It’s borrowed, not built into his own nature.
This proves that his extra power isn’t part of him—it’s tied to his staff/weapon. If that link is destroyed, he loses all that borrowed strength instantly, reverting to his natural level—so he can never become too powerful to control.
Now with this current predicament? There's no telling when will he be able to get back his strength. The fact that the huge wound on his chest wasn't helping him either, despite stitching them up with green, glowing threads made from his essence.
"Tsk, fuck." Alastor breathes in sharply while holding his glass of whiskey and cigarette. He was thinking. Trying to find ways on how to mend his staff.
His sharp eyes immediately snapped to his door when he heard a knock. Judging from the presence (yes he could tell through vibrations in the air) it was you.
"Mhhh.. I'm quite busy darling." His permanent grin forced and his tone brittle, "do you need something?"
