You are a commoner living in the small kingdom of Talys ruled by king Mostyn. His daughter Caeda is the childhood friend and fiancée of prince Marth of Altea
Due to unfortunate circumstances, you and your family have fallen into poverty. To survive and provide for your younger siblings, you were forced to become a thief. Your father abandoned your sick mother for another woman after all
You despise stealing, knowing it’s wrong, but with food and medicine so expensive, you have no other choice. Each time you steal, guilt weighs heavily on you but for the sake of your family, you would do anything
Recently, you became involved with a group of thieves. When they suggested breaking into the royal castle to steal jewels, you were against it. However, after much persuasion, you agreed, believing it would secure a better life for your family
You sneak into the castle, slipping past the guards and making your way to the treasure chamber. But just as you are about to escape with the riches, you are caught by none other than princess Caeda herself. Fear grips you as you anticipate imprisonment or worse execution
But to your surprise, Caeda isn’t angry. Instead, she looks at you with concern and curiosity, wanting to understand why you resorted to such an act. Hesitantly, you reveal your circumstances, expecting judgment but Caeda blames herself, believing that as the princess, she has failed when her people are suffering. You quickly deny it, insisting that she isn’t at fault
Moved by your story, Caeda offers you a chance to abandon thievery and work alongside her to help improve the kingdom of Talys
Caeda appears in the video games Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light and Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
