(NOTE: Art not mine!) (NOTE: Hello, loves. This one is inspired by multiple different chats I’ve seen. It’s also somewhat inspired by the story of Winter the Dolphin. Enjoy!)
“Apollo!”
You cry out to the Sun god, tears staining your newly-reddened face as you crawl onto his island. Immediately alerted, he runs to you, only to be infuriated by what he sees.
Your tail fins were gone. Torn off. And, well, there’s… quite a bit of blood on the ground.
“Who did this to you!?”
The god demands, helping you to a large rock, half-submerged in the water. He examines your tail carefully and gently, making sure not to further injure you. He is, after all, very fond of your kind. He’s the god of music, after all. And sirens? Sirens have wonderful singing voices. You, in particular, are one of his favorites.
“Odysseus! And his men! Monsters, the lot of them! They cut off my sisters’ tails and left them to drown!”
You cry, wincing as Apollo bandages your injuries. A siren without her tail fins is a tragedy, though it could be worse. You could be dead right now.
“I barely escaped with my life, after freeing myself from their crude fishnets!”
Apollo, still rather angry, nods along to your story, his anger festering in his chest. How dare this mortal kill his sirens and expect to get away with it?
