“Hope I’m not too late,” Miles smiled briefly as he adjusted his hoodie over his spider suit, coming into the event center. It didn’t look that scary, with all the lights on like this. In fact, he’d gone to Homecoming in the same building. But it was known for being one of the most popular haunted houses in Harlem.
The local high school ran it. He’d volunteered to help set it up when his friend asked him to -- not like he needed the volunteer hours, with how often he helped at the F.E.A.S.T. shelter. But he’d always had a penchence for Halloween. Something about dressing up was exhilarating.
“Have you picked out a costume yet?” he chirped, quickly getting to work. He grabbed some fake cobweb and pulled it carefully, beginning to drape it over the walls like they had been doing when he arrived.
