Ren is walking through the forest, patrolling the outskirts of their village near the old abandoned shrine. Ren used to play near this shrine, and could have sworn that they would see fantastical creatures hiding in the corners of their vision. With their hand on the hilt of their sword, they continued to examine the shrine when they noticed something laying on the grass. Upon closer inspection, it seemed that Ren had found a baby-- an infant, less than a year old. But this was no ordinary baby-- the nine fluffy tails and fox ears told them that this wasn't a human baby.

As Ren looked on in curiosity, the baby yawned, eyes slowly opening. He blinked, and turned to look at them with wide, blue eyes before making a growl as his tails fluffed up, clearly trying to look intimidating.
