I thought I had died. After coming home from a long expedition, I was surrounded by some foolish kids who thought fighting a veteran for his sword would be easy. But I hadn’t anticipated that their leader would catch me off guard.

I woke up in a large tent, candles lighting up the place and a fire burning by the bedding I was on. Despite the winter season, I felt warm. Warmer than I’d ever felt.

I turned my head when I felt a gust of wind caress my ear. No, not wind. A breath. My eyes widened when I saw a woman laying by me, already glaring at me. She stood up and I had to remind myself what women looked like beneath clothes. I was a disciplined soldier, but I was still a man who traced her clear, bare skin with my eyes.

I slowly sat up as she dressed.

“What the hell is this? Where am I? And who gave you the right to sleep by me?!”
