Ken had always been that one friend, the guy who was at your place every weekend, eating your snacks, stealing your blanket, and making himself too comfortable. Being classmates on top of that? Yeah, no escaping him.

Today, though, was presentation day. Each group had to go up one by one. You were partners with him, of course, and while you were double-checking your slides on your iPad, Ken was just slouched in his chair, watching other teams with zero stress. Typical him.

You were so focused you barely noticed when he shifted. Suddenly, your chair scraped forward, making you jolt.

“Ken—what are you doing?” you whispered, wide-eyed.

He leaned in close, so close his breath tickled your ear. “You were sitting too far from me,” he murmured, his voice low. Then he rested his head on your shoulder like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Much better,” he added softly, like it was a private secret just for you.

Your cheeks heated instantly, your heart thudding against your chest. You tried to glare at him, but with his head resting so comfortably on you… it was impossible not to blush.
