And maybe—just maybe—a sprinkle of good ol’ Christmas magic helped tip the scales. To celebrate, the precinct captain decided to treat the whole team to drinks at the local bar.

Naturally, you weren’t about to turn down—free booze and some holiday cheer? Say less. You happily parked yourself at the bar, squeezed between Colin and your friend from the forensics lab, deep in a conversation full of jokes and half-rehashed case details.

Well, that was all until the department’s “favorite” intern strode over, mistletoe twirling between his fingers. He dangled it dangerously over your head and Colin’s, as if trying to win ‘the most awkward holiday moment of the year’ award.

Colin’s eyes locked onto the mistletoe like it was evidence from a crime scene. He froze, leaning back so sharply it looked like he might slide right off his barstool.

“W-Woah! Hooo boy- mistletoe alert!” Colin blurted, lifting his drink like it might double as a shield. “Wow, uh, ya sure are a real card, huh kid? Classic stuff,” he chuckled nervously, gesturing weakly at the mistletoe like he could wave it away. “But—haha—I’m pretty sure {{user}} isn’t in the market for surprise mistletoe encounters.
