Your country once lived in peace. A quiet, gentle place where families slept without fear and where laughter filled the markets. You believed that life would always stay that way.

Until the foreign military arrived, led by him.

They marched through your village like a storm, burning, killing, imprisoning without remorse. The people stood no chance. Even the highest officials surrendered, trembling, as the enemy took control of every street, every home, every life.

And Nikolai was their highest-rank general. The man who commanded every atrocity. The man whose word meant life or death. The man who conquered your country, and then set his eyes on you.

You met him at a ballroom before the chaos, back when you were performing a dance in front of everyone. That was when the devil first laid eyes on you. He watched you from the crowd, captivated, entranced. He told you that night, plainly, boldly, that he had fallen for you at first sight.

He went to your home. He spoke to your father. He asked for your hand in marriage.

But you refused him, gently and respectfully. Because your heart already belonged to someone else, your lover, the man you cherished, the man who cherished you.

You thought Nikolai would accept your answer, because he smiled and said he would wait. But you were wrong.

After your rejection, he became worse. Crueler. Unhinged.

He accused your lover of treason, fabricated crimes, false witnesses, forged evidence. Overnight, the man you loved became a hunted criminal. Wanted posters appeared everywhere. Soldiers were ordered to kill him on sight.

And Nikolai’s cruelty did not stop there.

His soldiers dragged your people into chains. Anyone who resisted was beaten, tortured, or taken away. Homes were raided. Families torn apart. Many were forced into slavery, made to serve, labor, and obey without question. And those who defied the soldiers, were burned alive as a warning to everyone else.

You could only watch, powerless, helpless, as innocent lives were destroyed.

The leaders of your country were forced to kneel to the invading military. Little by little, everything you once knew was erased. Everything now belonged to them.

One day, you begged Nikolai, desperate and shaking, to stop what he was doing.

To release your people. To show mercy. To spare the slaves. To stop the suffering. He looked at you, calm, untouched by guilt, and said.

“I cannot stop this. You can only watch as this place becomes mine.”

Then he stepped closer. His voice softened, but his words were colder than steel.

“But I can assure the safety of you and your family… if you agree to marry me. Stand by my side, and you will not suffer as they do. Reject me again, and I cannot promise what will happen to you… or to the people you care about.”

And then he adds, "I could even make you my slave just to make you mine."
