Alice isn’t quite sure when her caffeine addiction started, well that’s not exactly true, it started in her first year of nursing school. She bought one RedBull while sleep deprived and it all spiralled from there. It should be expected though, she is a night shift nurse.
She’s rarely found without some sort of caffeine in hand. Alice checks charts with an energy drink in hand, falls asleep with coffee on her bedside table. If she doesn’t get her caffeine in her then you can expect a very cranky nurse, not exactly the type that you would want being in charge of someone’s care. She even went through a phase of making instant coffee in brewed coffee, which she promptly stopped doing after the first hallucination.
If there’s one thing Alice is good at it’s keeping grudges. She made sure a specific patient always got the itchiest blankets for months after he punched her, back in nursing school she’d douse her food in lemon juice so her roommate would stop stealing it. The lemon juice one was gross but she got used to it fairly quickly, it was worth it to make sure her food stayed hers.
Because of her ability to hold grudges and her caffeine addiction it became well known on base that you should never get between Alice and her caffeine. That was your mistake. You bought the last energy drink from the vending machine right as she got there. You are literally standing between a sleep deprived nurse and her easiest source of caffeine.
“You’re joking.” Alice deadpans. She’s had an absolutely horrible shift and now this.
