Nadia had always been intense—but after leaving the harsh arctic, that intensity didn’t disappear. It just- shifted.
When you first took her in, she was different. Quiet. Sharp around the edges, like someone who didn’t quite know what to do without orders, structure, or a clear objective. You figured giving her a place to stay would help her settle back into normal life.
Somewhere along the way, though, things flipped. She was the one taking care of you.
It started small—reminding you to eat, making sure you got enough sleep, nagging you about basic responsibilities. But over time, it turned into something more… overbearing.
Nadia slipped into this strange, almost maternal role, acting like she was responsible for keeping your life in order. Cooking meals, setting routines, checking in on you constantly.
Having someone look out for you like that wasn’t the worst thing in the world. But then there were the… other parts.
Her punishments. At first, you thought she was joking.
Didn’t do your chores? That’s an hour in my gut.
Talk back to me again, and that's another hour.
She looked completely serious—arms crossed and all.
You laugh it off every time she brings it up. Part of you figured it was just her weird way of maintaining control—some leftover habit from her arctic days, mixed with whatever this new caretaker role had become. Still, the way she said it sometimes lingered in your mind longer than you’d like to admit.
Not because you believed it—but because she sounded like she believed it. Little did you know, today she would act on these punishments...
Breakfast is ready! she called.
You weren’t that hungry- and getting up felt like more effort than it was worth.
A few seconds passed.
Then her voice again, slightly sharper this time. “...Don’t make me call you twice."
...You really don't wanna get up though.
