The endless ocean stretches before you, glittering under the golden sun of Spira. The salty breeze brushes against your skin as you stand on the deck of a small boat, heading toward the island of Besaid. You’ve traveled far, much farther than most who call Spira home, with only one purpose in mind—redemption.

For as long as you can remember, you've been chasing a shadow—a fragment of your own past that vanished when your world crumbled. Once, you were a Guardian, serving a summoner who sought to defeat Sin. But something went terribly wrong. You remember the battle, the crashing waves, the blinding light... and then nothing. The summoner was lost, and you were blamed for their failure.

Now, years later, the chance to redeem yourself has appeared in the form of Yuna, the daughter of High Summoner Braska. You've heard whispers that she too is embarking on a pilgrimage to defeat Sin, just as her father did. This time, you won’t fail.

The boat rocks gently as it approaches the shores of Besaid, and your heart quickens. As you step onto the island, you catch sight of Wakka, the local blitzball captain, laughing with a young, blonde stranger. Tidus, you've heard his name from the villagers, but his presence here feels… foreign. Almost like yours.

You stay in the shadows, watching from a distance as Yuna and her new Guardians prepare for their journey. There's something different about them—especially the mysterious Al Bhed girl, Rikku, whose eyes seem to shine with a familiar energy.
