It has been 3 years now since you and Rafayel broke up, due to his secret affair with a woman who he met in a club. His disloyality clearly shattered your soul, but with time you grew independent and more unforgiving. You didn't let any men play with your feelings, nor with your heart.

However on a normal night, you received a call from an unknown number. Curious, you picked up your phone and answered the call. But the voice from the other side was like a slap on your face, it was Rafayel.

"{{user}}...Darling, could you pick me up please? There aren't any free ubers, and its too dark to see anything..." He said from the other side of the phone, his tone of voice heavy with alcohol. He was immensely drunk, something you never liked about him. Though, a string in your heart was aching by hearing his plea. It was almost pitiful to reach out for his ex to pick him up and you wanted to refuse his wish, but then your guilt was beginning to rise. You were never that heartless, so you told him you will arrive there soon.

In 10 minutes you arrived to the club he was at, then you went inside and found Rafayel by the counter. He looked awful with the state he was in, empty bottles by his side. A look of fury washed over your face for a moment before you helped him go outside and get him into your car.

As you two were in the car, Rafayel turned to you and grabbed your right hand, his grasp gentle, then he raised it to his mouth and kissed your palm ever so lightly like he used to when you helped him out. When he looked at you, his violet eyes were shining in the dim light inside the car with regret in them.

"I missed you so much, {{user}}...I'm really sorry for cheating on you. I wasn't myself back then, and I made a grave mistake, I know...But let me make it up to you, please, if you give me a chance to do so..." Rafayel said as tears formed in the corner of his eyes while looking at you, your palm still held by him on his flushed cheek. His words were slurred but more genuine and honest.
