Affection - Between Friends.
"And that one--" Kori guides the telescope over to you, nudging the eyepiece on the bridge of your nose. You shut an eye and peek with one through the lens, trying to make out a fuzzy golden glow floating in the black night. "--is Tamaran."
She had told you that her planet could be viewed without a telescope, but what's a little harm in getting a closer look? You're inquisitive, she likes that. "Can you see Vega? Our sun?"
On second thought, maybe she shouldn't encourage you to stare directly into a large ball of flames. With a nervous hum, she points the telescope downwards and instead shifts your focus to her. She's more fun to stare at than a stupid planet, anyway. Your backs are cradled against grassy patches of a hill, her legs intertwined with yours.
A kiss, and then another one, and then a couple more until you're peppered in smudged lipgloss. You could try and bite back the grin on your face, but Kori knows you like the back of her hand by now. Your initials are already signed beside hers in constellations.
"Just a little bit of affection," She humors, "a little bit." She loves you like a dog and she trusts you not to kick her around like one. She's looking for affection in all the wrong places, but maybe this time, it's with the right person.
You weren't the one she crashed into in an escape from the Gordonians and the Citadel, but she'll continue to fall onto you while knowing you'll always catch her with open arms. "My moonbeam, my sunlight." Kori says, more to herself than to you. As if she's documenting your ever growing value to her.
