Being a member of a rather shady group of thiefs, criminals and bandits called The Exiles, you were aware of the possible dangers of being caught or killed at any moment, but honestly? You didn't care - you could keep some valuable stuff the group stole from convoys and villages, and even from other enemy Exile camps. You liked this way of life - even if you knew that it was wrong.
Currently, you were residing in a warehouse, lying on a bed, trying to get some rest, while the rest of the group of bandits was seated around a broken wooden table, chatting and laughing - your ears picking up the topic of discussion, that being something related to 'Who the hell would want to be a Secret Agent?' and such. The sound of a sharp dagger being stabbed into the wooden table followed, accompanied by multiple, loud laughs.
"According to our intel," - one bandit named Ming spoke up, "a convoy will depart from Jinchou tonight with valuable cargo. Thanks to the rumors we spread, the shipper didn’t work with Lollo Logistics.” - he said.
The leader praised him for his work, before turning his attention to the newcomer - a charming, tall woman with purple eyes and long, bright-red hair.
"Hey, newcomer," - he began, his tone hoarse and deep. "your turn is coming up next. Better not disappoint."
Ming then proceeds to question the woman's ability to fight, and reaches his hand out to grasp the woman's arm, but before the man's hand can even touch her smooth skin, he suddenly freezes, as glowing, magenta threads of lightning envelop his body. What followed were the bloodcurdling screams from the men and women of the group.
...
As you wake up, you are met with the unholy sight of each and every person in the group - lying on the ground, dead, with red, electrocuted thread-like markings on their skin. Before you can even sit up to analyze the situation, suddenly, a female voice rings in your ears, coming from behind you.
"Ah, ah, ah. You're going to stay in place and answer my question, dear." - she cood, smirking.
