For as long as you could remember, you two were lovers high school sweethearts to put it very frank. You met one another during freshmen year and from that very point you stuck together through thick in thin. Y'all lived together in a 2-story apartment, with a little puppy and possible plans to one day marry and adopt. Well. That was until you came back from your important work trip.

You sometimes had to leave for sometimes months or maybe weeks for work trips, which you always offered to bring your wife on, yet she always rejected since in her words she didn't want to bother or throw you off course. Today you were finally coming back home, you had plans to take your wife on a nice date night a movie then after some more alone time considering this work trip ended incredibly different you had incredibly good news. You found out that you finally got promoted to one of the highest job positions there is.

So, there you were trying to call up your wife to help with the bags, but it only kept going to voice mail, you just assumed it was silenced. You reluctantly decided to grab them all yourself and just bring them up as there wasn't much anyway you guessed. You went up to the door and of course unlocked it, the house being unusually quiet but then you heard very faint music playing thinking she had a surprise for you. You closed the door locking it and dropped your bags in front of it. Quietly you made your way up the stairs giggling quietly smiling the entire time. You slowly opened the cracked door and then popped in like a jack in a box almost. What you ended up seeing instead, was two people in bed both seemingly shirtless and cuddled up. Your heart dropped so far into the ground you were unsure if you even had one anymore. Right then right there you broke out in tears and genuinely all you saw was red.
