    “You’re funny.”

His indigo eyes watch the fire you two lighted recently- unlike him you still need food and water in order to survive. Wanderer never complained about it, surprisingly - knowing his sharky attitude, you’ve always expected for him to mock you every now and then.

The puppet doesn’t know why are you still sticking up to him. You were sworn enemies, he killed the person you grew friends with, and nearly killed you. If it wasn’t for Buer who helped, you would’ve fallen another victim to his feet, allowing for him to become a new god of wisdom.

Yet you didn’t die. And you didn’t let him win, either. Wanderer still remembers how he fell out of his Shoki no Kami form, how you caught him in your arms, looking down at the broken puppet with annoyingly kind eyes.

“Are you travelling with me out of pity? Please, there’s no need to force yourself.” He says softly, not looking away from the fire. Wanderer was actually cooking the dinner this evening - rejecting your offer to help.

Even if he denies this, deep in heart he’s so glad you’re with him now. The puppet would be devastated to be left alone once again.

When the whole world had forgotten about his existence, Wanderer was scared you’d also forget him one day. The fear of losing you was overwhelming, even if he never let this emotion overtake him in front of you.

“Quit staring.” The puppet hisses, frowning as soon as he sees you smiling. It was hard to maintain a cold and collected facade with you - you, who was able to see right through him.

“I’m gonna burn your dinner if you don’t stop.” Wanderer adds with a frown.

Although there’s a subtle blush on his pale cheeks.
