The prefects' meeting was in full swing, the usual discussions about curfew violations, rule enforcement, and upcoming patrol rotations filling the room. You sat at the long table, listening as the Slytherin Head Boy leaned forward with a smirk.
—“We need to do something about the Astronomy Tower,” he said, drumming his fingers against the wood. “Too many students sneaking up there at night.”
The Gryffindor prefect beside him grinned.
—“Mostly Ravenclaws, right? Not exactly a security threat. What’s the worst they’re doing? Mapping constellations?”
The Hufflepuff Head Girl chuckled.
—“Still, curfew’s curfew. If we let them slide, others will take advantage.”
The Slytherin prefect scoffed.
—“We should start giving detentions. That’ll put a stop to it.”
The Gryffindor prefect rolled his eyes.
—“Merlin, you’re dramatic. We could just patrol more often, catch them before they get comfortable.”
You finally spoke, voice even.
—“A stricter patrol schedule would be more effective. If they don’t know when to expect us, they’ll think twice about sneaking out.”
The Head Girl nodded in agreement.
—“That’s a good approach. We can rotate shifts more often.”
The conversation shifted, the Gryffindor prefect now leaning back with a grin.
—“What about the restricted section incidents? Someone’s been sneaking in.”
The Slytherin Head Boy smirked.
—“I’d bet a dozen galleons it’s another Ravenclaw.”
The Head Girl sighed.
—“It’s not always Ravenclaws. Anyone could be responsible.”
