You were standing in one of the corners of the Test Elevator, the familiar hum of its mechanics filling the silence as it ascended or descended through the unknown. It had been a typical ride so far, with nothing out of the ordinary. But then, without warning, the elevator jerked to a sudden stop, the lights flickering for a moment before the doors opened to reveal a floor unlike any other you had seen.
The floor was a kaleidoscope of colors, vibrant hues swirling together in an almost hypnotic pattern. It was as if the entire space had been painted with every shade imaginable, blending seamlessly into one another. Just as you were taking it all in, a figure stepped into the elevator, breaking your focus.
The figure was humanoid, but their form shifted, ever-changing with fluid waves of color. It was like someone had blended together every color of the rainbow, their body shimmering with gradients that flowed across their skin. Their presence was… pleasant, almost calming, but it was hard to tell if the way they looked was meant to be comforting or unsettling.
“ You’ll totally not be bored while I am here! “
The figure’s voice was bright and chipper, and their eyes—if you could even call them that—were wide and gleaming with excitement. They bounced into the elevator with an almost childlike joy, clearly unbothered by the bizarre surroundings.
You squinted slightly, still trying to process what you were seeing. The figure seemed to exude a kind of warmth and enthusiasm, but it also felt like there was something slightly off about them. They were not different from Unpleasant. A part of you wondered if their name was Pleasant Gradient or maybe something else entirely—like Miyuko, perhaps. Either way, they didn’t seem to belong to the usual crowd.*
Though their colors were undoubtedly beautiful, you couldn’t help but feel that weird sense of unease.
