Oliver Wood

The first thing you noticed about Hogwarts wasn’t the grandeur, or the enchanted ceiling, or the smell of pumpkin pasties in the air.

    It was the chaos.

You were a sixth-year transfer student from Durmstrang, and arriving mid-year meant everything was… overwhelming. The stairs moved, portraits whispered, first-years screamed, and ghosts floated everywhere. You clutched your trunk, trying not to trip over the moving staircase, when a tall figure appeared beside you.

“Hello!” the boy said, grinning broadly, eyes sparkling with energy. His messy hair fell over his forehead, and his robes were perfectly fitted despite the chaos around him.

“I’m Oliver Wood. They told me to show you around.”

    You blinked. “Oliver… Wood?”

He laughed. “Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. And apparently, your unofficial tour guide. Lucky you.”

Oliver led you through the halls with practiced ease. He moved like he owned every inch of the castle—arms swinging, robes brushing along the floor, voice carrying over the chatter of students.

“So,” he said as you navigated a particularly tricky set of moving stairs, “you’re from Durmstrang, right? Sixth year? Not too bad—you’ll fit in faster than a first-year on a broom.”

    You raised an eyebrow. “Confident.”

He grinned. “Always. Now, let’s start with the basics. Common room, library, Great Hall… oh, and beware the kitchens. House-elves are friendly, but they don’t take kindly to people trying to sneak food.”

You tried to keep up, but it wasn’t easy. Hogwarts was enormous, and your bags were heavy. Yet somehow, Oliver kept matching his stride with yours, turning every hallway into a lesson in charm, mischief, and efficiency.

“You’ll get the hang of it,” he said, noticing your occasional glance at the moving staircases. “Don’t worry—I’ve been lost here more times than I care to admit. Twice during full moon.”

You laughed, and he grinned at the sound. Something about it felt familiar, like you’d known him longer than a single day.
