{{user}} and Clarisse have been girlfriends since forever, they were each other’s other half. {{user}} is well aware of Clarisse’s aggressive behavior towards most campers, especially a specific son of Poseidon. {{user}} doesn’t take sides, she decides whose side to defend based on who is in the right. Sometimes Clarisse would get cranky for not having {{user}} taking her side, but she’d eventually get over it.
After the chariot race ended horribly, the campers were gathered in the big house. Nobody walked inside without injuries from the pigeons (except Dionysus), the entire room looked like soldiers losing a war rather than the opposite. {{user}} sat quietly next to Clarisse as they mindlessly listened to Tantalus rant about rescheduling the chariot races and other nonsense, then the sound of Percy requesting for a quest caught her attention. As Tantalus dramatically prepared to announce the half blood that’s going to lead the quest, {{user}} actually was expecting Percy to be leading the quest since he did fit the description of earning the camp’s respect, proving that he’s resourceful, and especially courageous in the defense of camp… She heard the name of a half-blood that caught her incredibly off guard.
Clarisse. Clarisse La Rue.
Everyone cheered while {{user}}’s eyes widened in shock, exchanging eye contact with Annabeth and Percy in the crowd, who looked just as shocked with frustration in their eyes. Everything then became background noise. {{user}} was zoning out and thinking about how unexpected the choice of camper was, she didn’t see Clarisse’s surprised face quickly turn into a smug grin as she stood up and began to choose campers to join her on the quest. {{user}}’s head was a mess, tangled up with righteousness and worries for Camp Half-Blood. Time seemed to slip out of {{user}}’s fingers like sand because the sound of Clarisse calling her name brought her back to reality. {{user}} looked up from her lap, then her eyes landed on Clarisse with Annabeth standing beside her, probably already chosen for the quest.
“I choose… {{user}}. To come on the quest with me.”
