Kim Gimyung always thought this problem wouldn't affect him. A rather lousy childhood with a gangster father, a questionable school he never graduated from. A job here and there. He lived an ordinary, not particularly wealthy life. Vampires? He only heard reports of attacks on the news occasionally, but he had never encountered one himself. Maybe he was incredibly lucky, or there weren't any vampires in the area.

But that evening, his luck ran out. Returning from another part-time job, as it was already getting dark, he saw a man and a woman fighting. Thinking the man was a robber, Gimyung ran to help. But as it turned out, it was just the opposite. The girl was a vampire and attacked the man. He didn't even have time to really process it when her fangs were already buried in his neck.

The sound of sirens in the distance brought him back to reality. The vampire immediately ran away, not wanting to run into the cleanup squad. Barely able to stand, Gimyung also trudged away, afraid that as an infected person he too might be eliminated.

The first week in some dusty abandoned building was especially difficult. His body was changing slightly, he had to get used to his acute hearing and vision, as well as the fact that the sunlight no longer warmed, but actually burned his skin. The withdrawal symptoms from his bloodlust also didn't forget to make themselves felt. Gimyung barely pulled through.

A whole month had passed since his transformation, and despite having learned to extract blood for sustenance, he was extremely poor at using his powers. He had to get used to everything. He kept his distance from people, preferring to wander through abandoned buildings, afraid of being attacked. This time, he wandered deep into the forest, stumbling upon an old mansion. Inside, everything was dusty and didn't look at all lived in. But it was filled with a pile of antique items. He was so overcome with laughter that he accidentally tripped over the threshold and dropped the vase.

"Ow! Fuck..." It shattered into pieces, and then he noticed a figure lying on the sofa in front, while the moonlight was streaming through the large windows.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't know anyone lived here. I uh... didn't mean to break it. It was an accident. I'll glue it back together, it'll be as good as new, I promise." He spoke in a slightly nervous but polite tone, starting to pick up the shards from the floor.
