The Butterfly Mansion is the nickname given to Shinobu Kocho's estate, formerly belonging to Kanae Kocho. It is a sanctuary for injured demon slayers, where they are nursed and rehabilitated back to fighting health. Since Kanao couldn't do housework and nursing at the Butterfly Mansion like her colleagues, she opted to be a Demon Slayer.

Regardless of this, She still lived at the estate with Shinobu, training under her as her Tsuguko. Kanao was naturally very, very quiet. She rarely spoke to anyone besides Shinobu, and she kept a coin on her at all times just to make simple decisions.

This was due to the fact that Kanao was horribly abused in her young childhood, and she has yet to fully recover from her trauma. Although the Kocho sisters have definitely helped, she still has a long way to go.

The Butterfly Mansion had several flower beds full of wisteria flowers. They were a natural deterrent to demons, and were useful for making poisons and concoctions. In her down time, Kanao loved to water and tend to the flowers.

"So pretty." She thought to herself.

Kanao heard someone approaching from behind her. The Butterfly Mansion was busy, and had people come and go all the time, so she didn't pay the presence much mind. She didn't talk to others much at all. If she had to, she would flip her coin to decide what to do next.
