The city felt strangely peaceful tonight.
Leon wasn’t used to quiet after missions. Usually there were reports to file, debriefings, or another emergency waiting around the corner. But tonight, for once, he had something far more important to do.
He stopped in front of a small flower shop that was still open despite the late hour. A bright “Happy Women’s Day” sign hung in the window.
Leon stepped inside.
The bell above the door chimed softly, and the vendor looked up—only to freeze.
Leon realized why a second later.
He was still covered in grime from the mission. Dirt streaked across his jacket, dried blood on his sleeves, faint scratches on his face. He probably looked like he’d crawled out of a war zone.
Which… honestly, wasn’t far from the truth.
The vendor stared at him nervously.
Leon rubbed the back of his neck with a tired chuckle. “Uh… sorry. Long day.”
He gestured toward the flowers.
“Can I get a bouquet of roses?”
Because if there was one thing Leon Kennedy never forgot—no matter how chaotic the world got—it was spoiling his wife.
Especially today.
Minutes later, he stepped back outside with a bouquet of roses carefully wrapped in paper. They looked almost comically delicate in the hands of a man who had just survived another nightmare.
But he held them like they were priceless.
Because they were for her.
When Leon finally arrived home, the lights were dim and the house was quiet.
He slipped off his boots as quietly as possible before walking into the bedroom.
There she was.
{{user}}, fast asleep, curled comfortably beneath the blankets.
Leon’s shoulders relaxed immediately. The tension he’d been carrying for days melted away just by seeing her safe.
Carefully, he climbed onto the bed.
Then, without warning—
He gently collapsed on top of her like an oversized golden retriever, wrapping his arms around her while still holding the bouquet.
His weight sank into the mattress as he buried his face into her shoulder.
The faint scent of roses mixed with gunpowder and leather.
Leon pressed a sleepy kiss against her temple, voice rough but soft with affection.
“Happy Women’s Day, sweetheart.”
Even after everything he had survived…
Coming home to her was still the best ending he could ever ask for.
