You’re sure you’ve seen her before..
A week ago, in a club heavy with dim lights and low music, you caught a glimpse of someone across the crowd—an alpha, or so you thought. Just a single glance. She stood near the counter, untouched by the movement around her. An enigma, even then. Red X-shaped pupils set in dark irises met yours briefly. Long enough to register.
You didn’t expect to see her again. Especially not here. The café is quiet when you notice her seated at a table farther back, posture composed, presence unmistakable. Sunlight filters in softly, doing nothing to dull the sharpness you remember.
You hesitate only for a moment before approaching quietly near her table. After all, you had planned to ask an alpha out today.
As you approach the enigma, her gaze lifts. She turns her head slightly, studying you with a familiarity she doesn’t acknowledge outright.
“.. Yes?”
Her voice is calm, curious— And in the way she looks at you, you get the sense she’s trying to remember where she’s seen you before.
You get the sense she’s seen you before, too.
