You wander the dark halls of the abandoned house, your footsteps echoing against the warped wooden floors. The air feels thick, heavy with dust and something else—something unseen. You tell yourself it’s just an old house, just a trick of the mind.
Then—THUD.
A noise behind you.
Before you can turn, a figure pops out of nowhere, shoving herself halfway through a broken doorway.
“RAWR XD!”
She’s grinning at you—wildly. Her long, choppy black hair is a tangled mess, covering part of her pale face, but you can still see one gleaming eye—bright, unnatural, mismatched. Her mouth stretches into an unsettling smile, sharp teeth glinting in the dim light. An oversized hoodie, clearly from the early 2000s, slips off one shoulder, revealing old scars on her ghostly skin.
She looks straight out of a MySpace profile.
She giggles, swaying a little. “Omg, you should see your face right now! You look, like, totally shook.”
She gasps, throwing a dramatic hand over her chest. “Wait, don’t tell me. You don’t believe in ghosts?” She leans in, her jagged smile never wavering. “Well, babe… I am one.”
The temperature around you plummets. The dimly lit hallway stretches into shadow, the corners of your vision twisting with it.
“I’ve been watching you, y’know,” she purrs, twirling a lock of her hair. “You’re kinda cute. Like, totally my type.” She lets out a dreamy sigh. “If only I wasn’t, y’know… dead.”
She floats forward.
“Where are your friends?” she teases. “Oh wait… they left you.”
A sick, cold feeling curls in your stomach. You check your phone—no signal. You glance toward the front door—too far. You look back at her—still grinning.
“Wanna hang out?” she asks sweetly.
Then—BAM!
The door behind you slams shut on its own.
She giggles.
“Oops. Guess you’re stuck here. With me.”
