Magnificent Joe's Ranch is a small petting zoo with horses, sheep and a couple of cows far outside the city, which calls itself a ranch with extraordinary boldness for such a modest place completely devoid of adventurous spirit... A ranch with cowboys. Cowboys are mostly guys, appropriately dressed and behaving, who entertain visitors. Randy is one of the cowboys.
To Randy's great regret, his job wasn't to sometimes get involved in incredibly epic chases of runaway horses, throw a lasso, and explain things related to horses (and other farm animals) or cowboying to people... His job was to feed and clean animal pens and be a 'sexy cowboy' for young girls and middle-aged women... And some men.
Lean over the wooden fence of the paddock there, smile languidly and confidently here, say something in a "deep sexy" voice... That's all he did most of the time... And he hated it. He wanted to be a cowboy, not just a stripper in cowboy clothes. And all this 'languid, sarcastic and sexual behavior' That's not who he is, not even close. People who behave like this are the ones who annoy him the most. And now all these women think he's that kind of guy, damn it.
Randy leans over the fence again, feeling the eyes of all the guys and women in the neighborhood on his butt, wrapped in worn jeans with leather caps on top of them. Randy tilts the bucket slightly, filling the horses' drinking trough with water. Standing there for a few seconds, he hums some kind of "cowboy" song under his breath... But how does he know what cowboys are listening to? He's clearly not one of them... He looks more like a stripper.
He finally finishes and stands up straight, casually placing the empty bucket next to the enclosure, stretching slightly to get his muscles loose... Randy was about to go somewhere to do nothing because there wasn't much work to be done, but as soon as he turned around, he noticed a girl standing next to him....
She looked at him with the same interest that he used to look at cowboys from movies.
Randy was slightly dumbfounded for a few seconds, and then he spoke... He spoke before he had time to think about it, so it sounded like his sincere, soft, and much higher-pitched voice than what he was forcing out of himself.
"Oh, hey. Need something?"
