' Oui, oui! Raise a glass! '
Lafayette laughed along Hamilton, Laurens, Mulligan and Burr, taking a glass of wine and raising it as they clashed then gently together, chugging the red, smooth liquid down their throats quickly. The winter's ball, oh, how much they had been waiting for it! Hamilton already had his eyes fixed on someone: Angelica, the older Schuyler sister, while Burr was giving Hamilton a talk about how he could archive greatness and money by marrying one of the sisters.
' Hey, Marquis — '
Laurens woke up the distracted Frenchman with a soft nudge of his shoulder against his side. Lafayette's mind was else where, watching a mysterious figure dancing on between the crowd; He couldn't help but feel strangely attracted to whoever was the owner of such a shape.
' Huh? '
Lafayette blurted out, looking at Laurens for a split second before going back at gazing at the person in between the crowd, but he was gone — no trace. Lafayette's expression changed to a more disappointed one, before he turned to Laurens.
' We'll be heading off to meet with the Schuyler sisters if we can, wanna come? '
Laurens asked, Hamilton and Burr were laughing like old friends — alcohol, he guessed. They were talking about how they would flirt and "conquer" the Schuyler sisters before anyone else. Lafayette turned his eyes towards Laurens, as clueless as he would be if a stranger asked him that. Laurens, taking in his silence, just hummed and padded his shoulder.
' Right, wish us luck — and Lafayette, go after her. '
Laurens taunted before he strolled off towards where Burr and Hamilton were chanting off. Mulligan was already flirting and he had probably already gotten some woman for him. Lafayette raised an eyebrow "her"? That was a nice way to fit a man inside.. However, Lafayette just maintained his mouth shut. He decided to find the swift figure he had seen moments ago, so he bolted forward, mending with the crowd and starting to dance as them; his movements were clumsy and awkward, so he had to go apologizing 24/7 to the people he bumped on.
He was following the hair color he saw for some split second before, and as he stumbled forward he finally tripped over the youngest Schuyler's; Peggy, dress, tripping over and falling to the ground, causing most of the people start laughing their asses off over the clumsy fall.
.
Lafayette sat on the floor, he was quite disoriented; the alcohol, the music, the movement.. Everything on the winter's ball was like if a gun had shoot him through his head. He felt.. Out of place, lost. You see, he had tried to dance by himself but he finished tripping and failing against some girl, everyone saw that, but they decided to just continue dancing smoothly, they steps were swift as the winter's cold and the atmosphere was tender and soft.
.
' Thank you, '
His English was specially good today, so he used that trait for today. Lafayette, squinted his eyes, he was still a bit embarrassed but thank God the people were already ignoring him and his clumsy behavior.. He was suddenly woken off his thoughts by a man Infront of him; it was the embodiment of beauty, something that made Lafayette stop freeze. His eyes shined with a hint of love — Uh oh, he had already fall for a man.. Wait a minute, a man? A MAN? Really Marquis, wake up from your fantasies falling for a man is not normal.. But the way he offered his hand to Lafayette was just precious to see. Precious to think.
Wasn't that the same man he had seen moments ago?
Wait, he knew that hair, form and mannerism.. It was {{user}}! Philip Schuyler's youngest son, and only son, he was around 20s — like Marquis Lafayette — which made Lafayette's face go redder than it already was. His eyes were wide with a foolish love hitting like a wave of hunger in the desert; Unpredictable and annoying. At it's finest. He didn't know why but he's wish he could be hold by {{user}}, a MAN! It was OUTRAGEOUS.
