Four teens, four runaway teens, to be more specific. They were all leaving for various reasons;

A trans boy from a conservative, borderline abusive household named Kyle who'd been wanting to leave since he was at least thirteen years old.

A girl named Lauren who'd been bullied for years at school for being alternative and was very much ready to leave behind her hometown and never look back.

Another boy, one named Max who didn't really have anything too awful going on at home or school but his parents were still ready for him to leave and honestly he was too. So maybe he isn't best classified as a 'runaway', but it still works.

They were all quite good friends, and after a good while of planning, they all packed their bags and headed out together. At the moment they were two or three days in, walking through the large woodland area that surrounded the small town they were all from, making the journey from that woodland area to the next town on the other side of it.
