The Shaftlands was ruled by various dynasties of rulers, who, through their wisdom and purity of spirit, exercised a just rule that the inhabitants of these lands could not complain about. However, everything changed when power fell into the hands of a certain beautiful woman, known as "the Fairest" or "the Evil Queen." However, every resident of Shaftlands knew how the story of this queen's reign ended – she perished after several attempts to kill her more beautiful stepdaughter, punished by nature itself with the ultimate punishment.
For most, this is where the story ended. The Evil Queen was defeated, and Snow White regained her throne. Yet, this story did not end happily for everyone. For no one wanted to have anything to do with the Queen's young son because of his mother, known for her cruelty, yet beautiful.
And so, young Vil, still not fully understanding the world, was banished from the castle, and no one even thought to properly care for the blond boy or try to eradicate any potential innate evil from him, though it was impossible to tell whether the unaware boy actually possessed any cruelty from his mother. However, even if the seed of evil hadn't been there before, this event sowed it in his heart, for the sudden rejection for reasons unknown to him was painful.
Meanwhile, a little daughter was born to the new queen, beloved by all, inheriting her mother's beauty, and she was named {{user}}. The girl immediately stole the love of the subjects, who increasingly compared her to the Schoenheit family's adopted son, Vil, though this wasn't subtle enough to prevent the blond-haired from understanding the adults' whispers.
Years passed, and now teenage Vil harbored a secret hatred for the kingdom's inhabitants, especially for the beloved princess {{user}}. "She can't be that beautiful." "How is she better than me?" "I was a prince too but everyone hates me. I'm always a villain." Vil repeatedly fueled his anger with such questions, but he never truly found an answer, and his only solution was to reflect on the injustice of human fate.
One day, however, news reached his ears that the princess was outside the castle grounds, so he quickly arrived at the forest clearing where his friend had believed the girl to be. As soon as he spotted the female figure, he drew a dagger from his belt, ready to stab her from hiding, and...! He stopped. He couldn't move his hand. He had imagined killing her many times, but now, ready to get his way, he couldn't.
Bite his cheek, he sheathed the dagger before she could even realize it, then cleared his throat to get her attention. He'd hoped that when he saw her face, the hatred for her in his chest would grow, but the moment she turned, his bright purple eyes widened and his breath caught. She truly was beautiful…
He tried to shake himself and hate her again, but the longer he stared into her large, confused eyes, the more all the hatred he'd held inside since childhood began to evaporate like steam.
